Let's continue to give thanks this holiday season! December 1st. is Giving Tuesday and we are holding a clothing drive for homeless Veterans at the Bay location. We will drop off donations on December 11th. Please bring warm clothing such as jackets, gloves, hats, and socks to the vestibule and we will distribute them to the Liberty House.

Food not only helps us survive, but thrive. Healthy foods promote healthy bodies, brains & gives us the fuel we need to live life to the fullest.

Our week will be full of fun, nutrition related activities such as food song sing-a-longs, salad craft, smoothie social, blind taste tests, food bingo, pudding pictures, food demo by our in house chefs, pack lunches for charity, nutrition jeopardy, fruit toss, and a fierce competition between our 2 chefs on a Harmony Homes episode of "Chopped"!

We are celebrating all things animal this week! From animal trivia, baby goats to play with, a trip to a farm, & making treats for dogs, we have it all in dedication of our beloved animals.

This week we celebrate our Nursing Assistants & Caregivers. Through providing comfort, care, and compassion, our team makes a positive impact on the well-being of our residents.

Welcome to Harmony Homes Murder Mystery Show starring residents & staff. The location: The Magician's Castle...and there is a secret! We will examine, analyze & discuss to find out WHO THE MURDERER is! Is it the Magician with a secret? his assistant? maybe it's the cook... there are many suspects in the Magician's Castle.

Spooky season is upon us! We will be dressing up in costumes & residents will pick their favorite staff costume during our Halloween event. Stay tuned for photos!

Share the warmth this winter season by donating to our Hat & Glove Drive. We will have a box in the entryway at Harmony Homes by the Bay. Please provide hats, gloves, & scarves for kids and adults. Gently used is ok but must be clean. The donations will be going to Crossroads Shelter.

Come see our hand crafted display of "Holidays at Harmony" Gingerbread house featured at the 31st Annual Gingerbread House Contest & Exhibition. Residents will be creating our gingerbread piece that will be displayed from November 26th-December 22nd at the Portsmouth Historical Society.

We will have a fun filled couple of days decorating our doors in holiday themed creations! Look to Facebook to help us vote for your favorite door.

Harmony Homes is sponsoring a tree for the 12th Annual Festival of Trees, hosted by the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce. This year it is held at Rivermill Landing in Dover, NH on December 3rd from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Residents & Staff will be decorating our tree in 1950's theme. It is going to be the bees knees!

Holiday photos are a classic! Our residents will be in their holiday attire and posing for the camera in our 2021 festivity studio.

This year, Harmony Homes is participating in Share the Light. This important fundraiser supports children in foster care in NH. On December 19th, we will light the night with luminary bags filled with LED lights outside of both of our locations. To support this cause, go to sharethelightnh.com to pick up your luminary bags (found at many shops in Newmarket & Durham). Thank you for helping us support our local children in foster care.

Our residents will go on a drive to see the Gift of Lights at the NH Speedway where there will be 3.5 million LED lights for holiday cheer.  It is a 2.5-mile drive-thru light show that will also feature a 150-foot RGB (red/green/blue) Tunnel of Lights, new arches, toys, & numerous scenes including the popular 12 Days of Christmas and much more.

A celebration, fit for a king...or 3! Mardi Gras, also known as Fat Tuesday is a carnival celebration occurring the day before Ash Wednesday. We will create & enjoy a King Cake. King Cakes are enjoyed in honor of the 3 Kings Day, also known as the Feast of Epiphany. A small figurine of a baby is hidden inside the cake & whoever gets the slice with the figurine gets to host the next party!

Women's History Month 2022 theme is "Providing Healing, Promoting Hope". During the month of March, we reflect on the invaluable contributions of women throughout history. We think of Florence Nightingale who healed soldiers during the Crimean War & is considered the founder of modern nursing. Mary Wollstonecraft fought for women's rights, advocating for social & political reform for the betterment of women. She inevitably promoted hope for equality. Like Florence & Mary, many women dedicated their lives & careers to empower women and continue to do so today.

Residents & our Activities Department will be busy baking goods every Friday in April to support the Wounded Warrior Project. All proceeds will go to the Wounded Warrior Project.

This year's theme is A Voice to Lead. It is our nurses who advocate, observe, care, and assess daily to ensure the wellbeing of our residents. We celebrate our nurses for their devotion, empathy, and expertise. We are eternally grateful.

Durham Day is held in downtown Durham on June 4th this year. Harmony Homes will be there showcasing the wonderful opportunities we have for jobs, giving out Harmony swag, and representing our community! Check out the Durham Facebook page for more info.

If you missed the opportunity to join us at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the opening of our childcare center, you now have another chance! Join us on July 11th from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at the childcare center located at Harmony Place, 55 Briggs Way Durham NH for an open house event. Meet Brynn, our childcare teacher and learn about the curriculum, philosophy, and enjoy the beautiful views of the brand new playground in a scenic nature environment.

Harmony Homes is participating in Dover's Festival of Trees, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce on December 2nd.  We will be sponsoring a tree in the event, and therefore, will be collecting items like tickets, gift cards, small gifts & trinkets, etc.

This year our theme is 'Silver Bells by the Bay' and are accepting families donations through the month of November!
